Project Proposal For Sponsorship, Financial or Any Other Kinds Of Support For Establishing A Home For Orphans,under-privileged Children And Senior Citizens

With a vision in mind and mission to take care of the orphans/ under-privileged children and neglected elderly people of our society an establishment under the name of “The Holy Care Home” is going to be constructed and developed at the Shahrasti Upazilla, in the Commemorative area, near the Shrine of the Muslim Saint Rastin Shah. The Shahrasti Upazilla falls under the district of Chandpur, in Bangladesh.

“The Holy Care Home” will not just be a shelter but a HOME and safe house for the under-privileged children, orphans and the neglected elderly people. The children who suffer from increasing displacement, marginalization, dissolution of family protection and segregation from the community, which make them feel like both social and economic burdens of the society, won’t have to feel that way further as they would have a HOME to go to, a HOME that will look after them and try meeting their needs.

The elderly citizens (The neglected ones), the ones who have no-one to look after them, care for them and ensure their healthy well being will also find a HOME and a family amongst the other residents. The senior citizens deprived of love, affection, attention, health and basic needs and necessities by their families will also find a safe houses to come to and call HOME.

A Rough Overview of the desired project/establishment and its common facilities

• A Six storied building.

• The Floor measurement of each floor should be approximately around 2500 sft.

• Maintaining proper hygiene would be one of the utmost priorities and to ensure that all the necessary steps will be taken.

• The area chosen to build the site guarantees a peaceful, quiet, beautiful, serene, positive and healthy environment.

• Each resident would be provided with the best accommodations suitable for their needs.

• Air Conditioned room (for paying residents).

• A common sitting lounge for all the residents with television, books, newspaper to pass leisure time.

• Basic and elementary education system for the children.

• There will be a canteen for tea/coffee and snacks.

• A swimming pool, a basic fitness room, part time Barber.

• The carer will ensure that everything runs smoothly, and focus on meeting most of the needs of the residents that is possible.

• The carer and other staff members too shall be supervised by higher authorities every 3 (three) months basis to ensure positive behavior towards the residents. Any kind of mistreatment or negligence towards any HOME residents would cause the carer and other staff members’ immediate suspension, only if proven guilty.

Project Goals Summarized

• To help orphans, underprivileged children and elderly citizens.

• To provide care and support services to these vulnerable beings.

• To increase capacity in job creation and future income generation for the orphans and underprivileged kids, which will eventually also bring down the crime rates, cause by these children later in life when they grew up due to lack of guidance.

The Objectives

• Prevention of the involvement of these children and youth in commercial sex activities, child domestic labour and other immoral activities.

• To promote more cohesive, considerate and creative individuals/ societies with equal opportunities and rights for all.

The Holy Care Home is a place where its occupying residents will reside together and enjoy their life independently but not isolated and will get proper nursing according to their need.

The Holy Care Home

A care centre aimed to establish for taking care of the orphans, under-privileged children & neglected elderly people of our society who are deprived of kindness, compassion, love and affection of the family. The Holy Care Home will be devoted to look after the orphans, under-privileged who are separated from their family and the abandoned Senior Citizens passing time in loneliness especially due to rise of nuclear families in our society. The Holy Care Home will be an ideal place where all the essential facilities will be available round the clock tending to the needs of its residents including food, clothing, education, shelter, medical care and recreational opportunities.

Location

"The Holy Care Home" is going to be established near the Shrine of Muslim Saint Rastin Shah (R) in the convergence of Kaziracup Mahalla (locality) under the municipality of Shahrasti, Chandpur, which is about 105 km away from Zero Point (GPO), Dhaka through Kachua.

The Upazila is bounded by Kachua Upazila on the north, Chatkhil and Ramgonj Upazillas on the south, Laksham and Barura Upazilas on the east, Hajiganj Upazila on the west.

Basic facilities

A 06 (Six) storied building measuring about 2500 sft. each floor has been undertaken to establish the Care Home ensuring well ventilation and natural lights for a pleasant and healthy environment. Necessary steps will be taken so that the members of the Home can lead a life in a clean and peaceful environment ensuring health care, entertainment and religious activities

Members will have air-cooled/non air-cooled paid double bedded single room/Suite (Two bed room, lounge, attached washroom, kitchenette, full and low high cabinet), also general rooms and dormitories/wards for free of cost members. There will be part- time doctors/therapist/dentists & ambulance (hired/own) for medical services, television, daily/weekly newspapers/magazine & a hall room for entertainment, conglomeration (Zamat), interactive session for motivation, exercise and white board for teaching children. There will be arrangements for the tourism through own/rented microbus for the members to get rid of monotony. Also there will be arrangements for Wi-Fi for net browsing; interactions with family members, friends & relatives staying home & abroad.

Key Features of the Care Home For Elderly People

• For the paid residents there will be individual television, and adjustable reading light.

• Separate dining facilities for the paid residents.

• There will be separate wardrobe for each member of the ward.

• Canteen for Tea/coffee & snacks. There will be no carbonated drinks, cigarettes unhealthy and unhygienic food.

• Swimming pool, fitness room, lush green lawn, roof top garden having walkway & leisure room for passing time.

• Fire sprinkler system to prevent accidental fire spread.

• PABX facility for intercom connectivity.

• Central sound system for Azaan, Recitation of Qur’an for 5-10 minutes immediately after Magrib and counseling to all together.

• Arrangements for potable hot & cold water and also sterilizer to sterilize utensils/ cookeries.

• Geyser system.

• Ramp for wheel chair.

• Mortuary for keeping the dead body of the residents of the care home as well as of the locality with washing facility.

Key Features of the Care Home For Orphans

• To ensure proper physical and mental health, necessary arrangements will be made available.

• Elementary education will be provided in the Care Home to each and every orphan. Religious lessons will be arranged to teach them moral and Islamic values through religious studies and Quranic education.

• Children will be given opportunities to play. Facilities and equipments will be available for different indoor games.

• They will be provided opportunities to participate in various functions that will be organized periodically in the care home and its surrounding areas to inculcate confidence and broaden their outlook.

• For a recreation and change of pace from the regular routine different activities including picnic, tours will be arranged periodically.

Common Facilities

• Open, spacious, well-furnished and ventilated rooms for accommodation.

• Bed, bed sheets, bed covers, towels, blankets/ comforters, non slip sandals, cupboard and all other essential items will be provided by the home authorities & also floor lights for easy movement at night will be installed.

• Hanging curtain will be used to separate each bed in general ward.

• Barber will be arranged on fortnightly basis for trimming hair. Also pedicure/manicure to be done by female for the female residents.

• Non-slip tiles will be used in washrooms, passages, common spaces and stairs.

• Fire fighting system and equipments will be installed in each floor.

• Separate washroom for Handicap.

• Exercise will be done on daily basis for fitness.

• If the relatives, children, friends & acquainted intend to meet with the inhabitants of the Care Home, they can meet them, even they can stay with them for 2/1 days (on payment basis), since there will be 2 guest room available with all modern facilities in the top floor.

The Holy Care Home is a place where the residents will reside together and enjoy their life independently but not isolated and will get proper nursing according to their need.

The Chief Patron’s Personal Note

In a developing country like Bangladesh, the facilities provided to orphans are almost non-existent. Due to lack of care and support, the orphans who are separated from their biological families deprived from basic human rights and needs causing increased risk of poorer health and well-being

On the other hand, due to rise of nuclear families both in cities and in villages, numbers of abandoned elderly people are increasing day by day. In the young age, the person who employed all his/her energies for the development of the family, society and the country, that vary same person become isolated/separated from the family and being extremely oppressed and neglected due to old age. One day the parents who were extreme caring for his/her offspring, today are away from them either suffer from severe financial hardship or pass very painful life departing from offspring due to their busy schedule or for staying abroad.

Some of them might be richer, having big houses in posh areas of a big city but when they grow older they become lonely and isolated as their children lead busy lives. Torn between numerous responsibilities and living long distances away they can’t always be around to help the elder ones, mingle and take care of themselves. Consequently, they become isolated despite having relatives and all means and standings. Loneliness is a silent killer and senior citizens are too much vulnerable to loneliness/isolation and it can have a serious effect on their physical & mental health. The Holy Care Home is the solution to stop it creeping in ensuring safety, independence & companionship. There will be opportunity to stay there in a quiet, calm and peaceful environment enjoying the tranquility of natures having companionship of people of their own age. Having a friendly face popping in on a regular basis which can raise spirits and give added health benefits by keeping them engaged and active. Inhabitants of the Care Home will offer a lifeline for each other having chat, share small stuff, talk about day-to-day things, latest news, events, reminiscing about the past or discussing various issues which can be immensely comforting and a paramount necessity

Moreover, the children of the Care Home will help the elderly person like holding hands while walking, enter/exit to and from elevator or through staircase and so on. Elderly persons will teach numbers, alphabets, word/sentence making as well as manners etiquette to the younger children. They will assist each other for building a society of love, care, affection and humanism.

“The Holy Care Home” is going to develop in the Kazircup, Shahrasti, Chandpur area for all those neglected/indifferent elderly people and distressed orphan of the society who are deprived from kindness, compassion, love and affection of family with a view to provide them a better life.
